Support Camp Through An In-Kind Gift!
Support of Pyoca's ministry happens in so many ways. One of those is through in-kind gifts. Whether it be program, facilities, or maintenance needs, there are numerous items that we are seeking to continuously improve our site and programming. Items listed with an asterisk (*) are considered top priority for upgrades and replacement at camp. Pricing on certain items includes labor and estimated shipping costs. Congregations: In addition to supporting camp through an annual pledge or by sponsoring an in-kind gift listed below, we are also interested in gently used items you may be looking to donate or get rid of. Items of particular interest include:
- Instruments: tambourines, drums, maracas, electric pianos, etc.
- A/V Equipment: music stands, speakers, sound boards, projectors, etc.
- Kitchen Equipment: tables and chairs, commercial kitchen supplies, etc.
Looking to donate items that aren't listed? Go ahead and give us a call. We'd be more than happy to chat and see if it would be useful at camp. We are fully stocked on Bibles and hymnals, with the exception of the newest PC(USA) purple Glory to God hymnals.
We know that our community is vast and has a number of connections and resources that can help us make these site improvements a reality. If you would like to make an in-kind donation or sponsor one of the following items, contact Executive Director Mike Davis.Program Support
SUMMER CAMPFor those who wish to give direct gifts that will be utilized in our summer camp programming, check out our Amazon Wish List. You will find items that can be purchased and sent right to Pyoca for our year-round and summer camp programs. GENERAL PROGRAM
Many of our program supplies are used throughout the summer, as well as for year-round programs and retreat groups. We regularly need to provide maintenance and upgrades to our adventure activities, and are also striving to find resources that will make camp more accessible for our guests.
Golf Cart* | We are working to make our site more accessible and currently do not have a means to transport guests around the site in a safe and reliable manner. A four-seat golf cart is essential as we begin to make accessibility upgrades. |
Our waterfront is a key feature of camp that draws campers and guests back to Pyoca. We are looking not only to add to our mini fleet of boats, but also to update our designated swim area and fishing docks to better accommodate aquatic activities. A fun recent waterfront update: 1,000 bass were donated and released in the spring of 2022 to balance the ecosystem of our lake, leading to better fishing and fewer nibbles from smaller fish like bluegill!
Aquatic Lily Pad* & Storage Rack | We are looking to add these fun new water elements to our revamped swim area.
Corcls* | Corcls are an amazing intro boat for young campers! We are looking to add more to our fleet so more campers can boat at one time.
Paddle Boards | There's always a long line waiting to use the paddle boards at camp! We are looking to add more to our fleet so more campers can boat at one time.
Accessible Boat Launch* | We are striving to enhance accessibility around our site.
Fishing Dock* | Our fishing dock along the causeway is no longer functional.
Expanded Dock* | We are re-designing our waterfront layout and are adding onto our docks. |
Facilities Support
KITCHEN UPGRADESOur kitchen has seen a few improvements in the past five years, including a new small oven and industrial stand mixer, however much of our equipment ranges from 15 to 35 years old and is in need of updating.
Tilt Kettle | Used for cooking in large batch quantities.
Stovetop Range* | Our current kitchen range is older than the Lodge (built in mid-1990s).
Floor Scrubber* | Our current floor scrubber is approaching 20 years old. This tool drastically cuts down on staff cleaning time.
Dishwasher | Our current commercial kitchen dishwasher is over 20 years old.
Double Ovens | We are currently limited to one oven, which adds substantial time to kitchen prep for meal service.
Kitchen Floor & Cabinets | We are looking to redesign our kitchen layout with more functional cabinet space and flooring that is safe and easy to clean. |
Many of our buildings received their last major upgrades 15-20 years ago and are in need of updating. Interested in sponsoring the upgrade of an entire cabin? Help us repaint, carpet, and upgrade bathrooms in one of our modern cabins for a total of $30,000.00.
Modern Cabin Interior Paint | The paint in our cabins is due for an upgrade, as the cabins receive high traffic, leading to greater wear and tear on the interiors. Oak and Cedar specifically need painted professionally due to their high ceilings, which require scaffolding.
Modern Cabin Carpeting | The carpeting in our cabins is due for an upgrade, as the cabins receive high traffic, leading to greater wear and tear on the flooring.
Lodge Interior Paint | The paint in our Lodge dining hall and basement is due for an upgrade, as the Lodge receives high traffic, leading to greater wear and tear on the interior.
Lodge Exterior* | Our Lodge is approaching 30 years old and is in need of some exterior updates, including: new paint/stain, siding updates and repairs, new stairs adjoining our beloved porches, and new porch screens. |
Maintenance and Grounds Support
EQUIPMENT & GROUNDS UPGRADESOur last major equipment and grounds upgrades came in the early 2000s with the purchase of our two Gators and tractor with grant funding. This machinery has served us very well in the past 20 years, but the need to replace it is quickly approaching. While we would love brand new equipment, any donations of and connections to gently used maintenance equipment are also greatly appreciated!
Electric Utility Vehicle | We are looking to replace our Gator with an eco-friendly upgrade.
Ventrac Tractor & Accessories* | This machinery will greatly reduce staff time spent on dam maintenance.
Ford F-250 Pickup* | We currently have two camp trucks that are on their last leg. A reliable truck is essential to plow snow in the winter, haul our canoe trailer, and haul materials around camp. |
