Our staff will be more than happy to share information concerning our COVID-19 policies and procedures, availability, and pricing with you. Pyoca's reservation policy is on a first come, first serve basis. We will hold requested dates for two weeks as we await submission of the rental deposit and signed contract. We require a minimum of two weeks' notice to book retreats and events so that we are able to accommodate your stay to the very best of our ability. Thank you.
The health and safety of everyone who visits Pyoca is always our number one concern. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Pyoca has implemented the following based on information provided by the Center for Disease Control, the American Camping Association, and the Governor’s office of the State of Indiana to help combat the spread:
- All retreat guests are asked to practice good hand hygiene and maintain social distance when possible (hand sanitizing stations will be available in public areas).
- Masks are highly encouraged for all guests, except when eating and drinking, and outdoors when 6 feet of social distancing cannot be achieved.
- All staff will self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and wear a mask at all times.
- All Pyoca facilities have all been outfitted with central air purifiers and enhanced cleaning measures have been implemented.
Pastor Respite & Family Retreat Stays:PASTOR RESPITE
Each year we host pastor respite stays at no cost to pastors in Whitewater Valley and Ohio Valley presbyteries, thanks to the generous support of our presbytery partners. Pastors from our partner presbyteries are already booking respite stays this fall, so if you are a PC(USA) pastor in either of our supporting presbyteries we welcome you to join us for some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Pastor respite stays are typically booked in the Poplar Cabin apartment on available weekends, however we do host a number of pastors for weekday stays. The Poplar apartment has a full kitchen and queen-sized beds with linens to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Food service is typically not included unless another group is also on-site. If you know of a pastor who could use a bit of respite that is not under care of Whitewater Valley or Ohio Valley presbyteries of the PC(USA), we would still love to host them! While we cannot offer no-cost stays to all pastors, we encourage congregations to support the cost of respite for your pastor. We believe all pastors deserve a break and time to reconnect with God in Creation. FAMILY RETREATS
We are currently booking stays for immediate families in Cedar Cabin, as well as the Poplar apartment, throughout the fall and spring. Weekends in the fall fill up quickly, so be sure to inquire about your stay today! Families will not share cabins with other retreat guests in order to remain socially distanced. Pricing and booking information are available below. ACCOMMODATIONS
In order to better accommodate family and pastor respite stays, we have begun making a few upgrades to our cabins. The Poplar apartment now has queen-sized beds and added kitchen supplies to make your stay more comfortable. Linen service can be added to both queen and twin beds at an additional cost. Pricing below reflects the cost of family stays, with no more than 10 guests per cabin. Poplar Apartment: $125/night, up to 7 guests. One queen-sized bed, five twin beds. Cedar Cabin: $250/night with a two night minimum, up to 10 guests. Linens: $12/person. As always, guests are free to bring their own linens. Guests staying on-site for pastor respite and family retreat stays typically provide their own meal service, unless another group is on-site. There are some great restaurant options in Brownstown, as well as a local grocery store nearby to supplement guest meals.
Our kitchen is back to serving great meals for our campers and retreat guests! We also have a number of options for groups looking to provide their own meals during their stay.
